Certification
We are licensed by the State of Nebraska, assuring parents that it meets or exceeds all state requirements for preschools. Maplewood Preschool is under the umbrella of Maplewood United Methodist Church and is govern by a Preschool Advisory Board with 11 members.
School Hours and Days
Morning Session: 8:45 to 11:15 a.m.
Afternoon Session:12:15 to 2:45 p.m.
Classes run from the last week of August to the third week of May.
School Cancellations
Maplewood Preschool follows the Omaha Public Schools' decisions regarding cancellation due to inclement weather.
Tuition
Tuition is due the first week of each month. Tuition must be paid to hold a child’s place in preschool, even if the child is absent from school due to illness, vacation, holidays or school cancellation due to weather conditions. An advance notice is appreciated when a child is to be withdrawn from preschool. A MAXIMUM REFUND of one week’s tuition will be granted ONLY when notification of withdrawal is made during the first week of the four week tuition period.
Drop Off and Pick Up
Please escort your child into the educational wing of the building.
When picking up your child please wait by the classrooms in the hallway. Teachers will dismiss form the classroom. Please use the south door exit for dismissal.
Illness
Children with any of the following conditions should be kept home until the condition has been gone for at least 24 hours:
fever, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhea, skin rash, and red or mattering eye.
Visitors
You are welcome to visit at any time. Advance notice is appreciated. Please schedule visits with the Director and or your child's teacher.
Snacks
Children will receive a snack each day. Parents are welcome to sign up to bring snacks for their child's class with the Director or child's teacher.
Communication
The child will be bring home a "Partner Pouch" folder, in their backpack each day. Please check daily for information from the teacher. The Partner Pouch is also a way for you to share information with your child's teacher.
Parent newsletters will be sent home each month with your child.

Progress notes are sent home in November and March.
Parent/ Teacher Conferences are held in November for all classes.
Parent / Teacher Conferences in March are optional for 4 and 5 year olds.
Parents are free to call any time with a question or concern.
