Just as when it was established in 1964, Maplewood Preschool continues today to provide a state licensed preschool program focused on the  education of young children in the community.  We realize that children progress at different rates and learn through various methods, so we believe that they should have the freedom and opportunity to develop their physical, mental, and social capabilities with a feeling of success in a structured atmosphere.

Our Goals

  1. To enhance the child’s self-image, to stimulate intellectual growth and to expand the child’s knowledge of the world.
  2. To help the child relate to other children and adults.
  3. To provide opportunities for gross and fine motor development.
  4. To help the child relate to their own emotions.
  5. To express ideas and feelings through a variety of methods and materials.
  6. To help the child use language to communicate effectively.
  7. To help the child develop good listening skills and learn how to follow directions.
  8. To provide patient and affectionate teachers who understand child development and respond to the individual needs of children.
